Where Does the Name of the Beach Come From?
Cleopatra Beach was named during the visit of the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra, who was the lover of the Roman Emperor Mark Antony, in 41 BC. While enjoying the sea here, Cleopatra said to Antony, "I admire the beauty of the sea here. Can you build a beach of this beauty for me?" he asked, and thus the name of the beach became "Cleopatra Beach".

Where Does the Beach Sand Come From?
The sand of the beach was formed as a result of erosion of limestone and basalt rocks carried from Damlataş Cave, which is about 2.5 kilometers away. Therefore, the sand of the beach is quite different and very fine.

What is the Legend of the Beach?
Cleopatra Beach has a legend. Legend has it that because of the love of Cleopatra and Mark Antony, Cleopatra's dunes were specially arranged to reflect her love for her lover. Therefore, the sand of the beach is fine and golden in color and is said to be of beauty that Cleopatra adored.
